Laila Amine specializes in twentieth-century African American and African Diaspora literature with particular interest in comparative race and ethnic studies. Her book project, Postcolonial Paris: Fictions of Intimacy in the City of Lights, offers the first cultural study of Paris from the vantage point of its colonial and postcolonial periphery. Amine's work has appeared in American Literature, Culture, Theory, and Critique, Black Camera, and Postcolonial Text.
